Hi Friends,
I am so excited that spring is finally here! I don’t know about you, but I need that warm sunshine and natural vitamin D to bring me back to life after winter. And with this nicer weather, our calendars are filling up—more outdoor activities, more commitments, and, let’s be honest, less time to keep our homes organized.
That’s why sometimes, you just want someone to tell you exactly what to sort and toss. No overthinking, no decision fatigue—just a quick win so you feel like you’re making progress. So today, I’m sharing five things I’m tossing right now that you might want to let go of, too. The best part? Each one is a super quick decluttering task you can do in a few minutes and still feel accomplished.

1️⃣ Expired Beauty & Skincare Products
That face mask I swore I’d use for self-care… two years ago? Gone. The lotion that smells slightly off? Tossed. The mascara I keep using even though I know it’s probably a breeding ground for bacteria? 👀 Yeah… it’s out.
If you have a bathroom drawer (or a whole shelf) filled with half-used beauty products you never reach for, do a quick scan. If it’s expired, smells weird, or makes you break out—bye-bye!
2️⃣ Instruction Manuals for Things I’ll Never Fix Myself
Raise your hand if you have a folder, drawer, or entire pile of instruction manuals that you have literally never referenced. 🙋♀️
Listen, if my coffee maker breaks, I’m not digging through a pile of old papers—I’m googling it. Because let’s be real, I only use that coffee maker for guests. I’m a hot cocoa girl! Most manuals are available online now, so unless it’s something truly unique (like a fancy appliance with a code you need), recycle them and reclaim that space!
3️⃣ Clothes I Want to Love But Never Wear
You know the top that’s “so cute” but feels weird every time you put it on? Or the jeans that technically fit but make you miserable? Or maybe a dress you used to love, but now every time you put it on, you’re like, “meh” and change into something else?
Here’s the deal: If you don’t feel good in it, it’s not worth keeping. Make room for clothes you actually love wearing! I’m sure you’re already thinking of a few items right now. So why not pull them out and start a donation pile? Your closet (and future self) will thank you!
4️⃣ Gifts I Feel Guilty Getting Rid Of
Oof, this one is hard. That candle from a work event, the mug someone gave me that I never use, the lotion set I forgot about… I feel so guilty letting these things go.
But here’s the truth: Keeping something out of guilt isn’t a good reason to keep it at all. If you don’t use it or love it, pass it along to someone who will!
5️⃣ Books I Keep Meaning to Read But Never Will
You know that book. The one you keep saying you’ll read someday, but deep down, you know you’re just… not going to.
Not every book is meant to be finished, and that’s okay. Donate them, pass them to a friend, or take them to a Little Free Library so someone else can enjoy them.
A Quick Decluttering Challenge
You don’t have to do all five things in one day! Just pick one category to tackle each day and see how good it feels to clear out that unnecessary clutter. Even small wins add up!
🙋♀️ Tell me—what’s the hardest thing for YOU to let go of? Let’s talk about it in the comments!
